Open stance with right foot back "or drop step", hands high nearly touching the rear shoulder
and both eys on the pitcher.
Front foot is picked-up as short stride forward begins transfering the weight to the front side to help
initiate the body rotation for bat speed.
Pre-Launch with hands reaching back, front leg landing on ball of foot @ 45o angle while stretching
forward with stride and back elbow up.
Hips open by pulling bat with bottom hand and pushing with top hand aiming bat just below
the equator of the ball for spin.
Ball waist high and bottom hand torque is now being executed for the second order of bat speed generation
coupled with hips and shoulders.
Chest high ball, showing bat lag with back elbow dropped down next to the back hip (in the slot) with just
a sight upper cut to meet ball squarely as it decends down into the impact area.
Now just prior to impact the hands are still leading the bat head through the hitting zone, belt buckle
facing pitcher, a full hip rotation with a back leg drive.
Ball has left bat barrel with top hand wrist underneath the bat (i.e. wrists have not rolled yet), bottom
hand fully torqued, bat speed is maximum, eyes and head aligned directly on ball.
Arms are now fully extended toward the pitcher, the bat is swinging around a straight front leg that is
anchored in the ground similar to a thetherball swinging around its fixed pole in the ground.
Complete full hip turn here, arms fully extended and pointing towards 2nd base, weight has now
shifted to 90% on front leg with back foot and leg beginning to slide forward.
Top hand is now released from the bat allowing for a long and smooth follow-through to
be executed as the bat decelerates.
First stage of follow-through with hands high in the air, top hand has totally released the bat to facilitate
an elongated follow-through.
Hands continue to separate with the top hand reaching upward and the bottom hand with the bat going down
toward the ground.
Body continues to rotate/twist in the direction of the ball flight with the bat barrel near the rear foot
area.
Follow-through complete with top hand high and bottom hand holding bat swept around low along the back side
of the batter crossing back over the plate coming full circle.
NO! Don't hit that car...please!
