Kalispell Invite 2010 Montana Senior
Olympics and Open Softball Tournament For the first
time in history, the Flathead County Parks and Recreation Department and the Flathead Senior Softball
Association are joining together to host the 2010 Senior Olympics and Open Softball Tournament for the state of Montana.
The tournament will be open to all U.S. and Canadian teams in the
50+, 60+ and 70+ age brackets. The three age brackets meet the qualifying requirements for the National Senior Olympic Tournament
(to be held in Houston, Texas) in 2011 and also opens up the tournament for all other teams. The teams that WIN their bracket earn the right
to participate in Houston as the representative from Montana. Each age bracket will have a Gold, Silver and Bronze winner.
There will be six slots available for teams in each age bracket,
or a total of 18 possible teams. Every effort will be made (depending on the number of teams) for Round Robin Play in each
age bracket. The Gold and Silver medal teams in each bracket will play for the tournament championship in a double elimination
tournament. In the event that there are not enough teams in each bracket to play a round robin schedule, inter bracket play
will take priority.
The inter bracket play would match all level teams against each other.
For example; if a 50+ team played a 70+ team, the 70+ team would start the game with a 7 run lead and would be allowed to
play 11 players on defense. If a 50+ team played a 60+ team, the 60+ team would start the game with a 5 run lead. These
types of match ups will be discussed at the all teams meeting on Friday, June 11th at 3:00 p.m. at the Conrad Complex.

as well as the teams in the 50+, 60+ and 70+ age brackets who would like to compete in an age bracket tournament.
