Dear Baseball-Softball Oldtimers Honoree:
Congratulations! On behalf of the Tacoma-Pierce County Baseball-Softball Oldtimers Association it
is our pleasure to let you know that you have been selected to be recognized at the annual Oldtimers banquet which will be
held Sunday, May 4th at 2:00pm at the Elks Lodge in Tacoma.
I
would like to encourage you to visit our website at www.oldtimerbaseball.com for information on our association, previous teams and Hall of Fame winners in your category, and notable athletes
that have been recognized in the past.
There is a tremendous amount of preparation that is required to make this afternoon a memorable occasion but in order
for it to be a success your immediate cooperation is requested. Attached or enclosed is a flyer for family and friends who
are welcome to attend and to support you at the banquet. Please make copies and distribute as needed. In
many instances the honoree will write one check to cover all of the reservations and that is certainly acceptable. If you
select that method, please be sure to list everyone’s name and their meal selection –roast beef, chicken marsala
or vegetarian.
For those family and friends who send in their own reservation, please make sure that they include the names of each
individual planning to attend, their choice of entrée, and which honoree they wish to be seated with. This is critical
as we cannot accommodate last minute requests. Please send in your reservation request as early as possible. Due to the overwhelming
attendance in the past, seating is limited and we cannot guarantee the availability of being able to purchase dinner tickets
at the door at the last minute.
All honorees must complete the attached or enclosed questionnaire and return it to us no later than February 15thif
you have not already done so. If you need more space, write on the back or use another sheet of paper.
If possible, we prefer that you complete this form online at www.oldtimerbaseball.com. Click on the “Online Form-Sports History Questionnaire” located on the left side in the yellow box.
Fill in your answers and click submit. Please be as detailed as possible.
We
need team and individual photos to use in the souvenir program book. Please send them in along
with your player questionnaire, or by separate mail. You may also arrange to drop them off with me personally. If you have
old uniforms or other memorabilia that you can share, please get them to me in advance so we can put them on display for others
to enjoy. All pictures and memorabilia will be returned after the banquet upon request.
In the past, we have had over 250 honorees and family/friends attend the banquet, spending time together and reminiscing
over past careers. We look forward to your participation with another fun-filled and memorable afternoon.
